Historic Document Searches
We have experience of searching for historic OS mapping including Field Boundary Notes and Detail Survey Observation books. Whether it is necessary to refer to old editions of OS maps or search for old estate maps and records, we can visit the National Archives and National Libraries to investigate any area of interest throughout the Country.
The manuscript room of the National Library has a wealth of maps pertaining to urban as well as rural areas and can be of assistance when designing/planning an extension to a city centre plot. There are numerous dimensioned plans (going back 250 years) showing exact details of backyards that may be inaccessible today.
We can also investigate old Deeds in the National Library and Registry of Deeds which can often clarify ambiguities on Ordnance Survey maps which are of a more recent origin.
